Surprise.....sort of....

December 1, 2017

Hi Friends!! Its been a while since I have been on here, but hopefully you all have missed our Herd and will be excited to know that I have decided to attempt BLOGMAS!! Now if you don't know what blogmas is don't worry, I didn't know until just a couple days ago. Blogmas is when you post everyday for the month of December and it all is supposed to be holiday related. I will do my best to make it all holiday related but you may just be getting what happens in our life in December.

I decided for my first post I would talk about what puts me in the Christmas spirit. As soon as our little town starts hanging up lights downtown about mid November I start to get excited! For me though Christmas season doesn't officially start until we put our tree up.  I like to have our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. We take it down right after Christmas because Jacey's birthday is the 29th of December and I like it to just be her birthday.  So our decorations aren't out long so I like to get them up as soon as we can! I would totally put it up before Thanksgiving....but the Husband disagrees....believe me there has been many discussions about it....but somethings aren't worth getting divorced over. 😉

I love love love sitting by the tree when the house is quite and having a cup of coffee.  Or when we have a little baby in the house and they wake up in the middle of the night, rocking them by the Christmas tree absolutely melts my heart.  It definitely will be different this year not waking up to nurse and snuggle a baby, I mean don't get me wrong I am totally enjoying sleeping through the night.....but I will  absolutely wake Goldie up one night just so I can rock her to sleep by the tree.

It is so much fun to watch the kids get excited about the ornaments and watch them lay under the tree looking at the lights. Our tree is packed full of ornaments full of memories, babies first Christmas, first as husband and wife, as a family of 3, as a family of 7, Nathan's first Christmas, special ornaments the kids have made.  It isn't a tree that's super fancy or decorated with the latest trends, although I do love those trees! It's just that super fancy, decorated, and latest trends don't really apply to our life. It would just get ruined. People say "oh no it wouldn't, your kids would stay out of it." Or "give them a tree of their own that they can decorate."  I know for a fact this wouldn't work because yesterday I had to clean up a puddle by our tree......a puddle.....a pee puddle. The words "You can not pee on the Christmas tree" came out of my mouth yesterday.  Never in my almost a decade of being a mom have I ever had to specify that you may ONLY urinate on trees that are outside.
Never have I ever.
