Ice Storm

January 20, 2017

Last weekend we got hit pretty good with an ice storm and here are just a few pictures of how we survived our day.

The boys were busy with playdoh.

Jacey has been loving reading to Goldie, and Goldie loves it too!

This guy was on dishes duty, and then we went and got paper plates. :)

Now I'm not very good a prepping but I do feel it's important to have lots of snacks on hand if you are about to be iced in with 5 children!

These pictures are before it started to get really bad.

Our poor little town got hit pretty hard and we lost a lot of trees, our fence took a pretty good hit when some big branches fell, and we have a lot to clean up, but it could of been worse. When I first moved to Pratt (pregnant with Colton) we had a horrible ice storm and lost power for 12 days. Thankfully this go around we were only out for about 6 hours.

I gave Princess Pete a manicure to get ready for our vacation.
(Blog post coming soon, I just need to sort though all the pictures!)

There was lots of movie watching.

Lots of movie watching!

Nathan made a huge lunch that everyone enjoyed!

We tried to get a bubble to freeze.

And we ended the day off with this little miss learning how to handle her sippy cup, she was pretty proud of herself. :)

New Year...New Me

January 4, 2017

Okay I have been staring at this blank post screen for about twenty minutes now trying to figure out where and how to start and I got nothing so we are just going to jump into it.

I am so excited for 2017. Normally I don't care much about new year resolutions, or turning over a new leaf  but this year I am ready for change!
So my New Years resolution this year is:

Get my Sh*t together.

All of it. Parenting, homeschooling, housekeeping, the amount of times my coffee is reheated before I can actually finish it. I am getting my act together. So day four of January and homeschool schedule has been made, cleaning lists created, toy and clothing purging has begun, and coffee is being chugged, but there is still something nagging me in the back of my mind that I want....need to do.

I really like blogging. I like keeping a scrapbook of the day to day with my kids. I like writing about things that I'm worrying about, or excited about. But I always end up stopping because I worry about bothering people, or that since I'm not as good as actual bloggers  I should probably just not do it at all and leave the blogger title to them, and lets be honest who really wants to hear about the fact that I haven't washed my hair in 4 days. :) Over the holiday break I had some sweet encouragement from some new Instagram followers and a long chat with the sisters and decided to go for it! I even thought up 10 post for January so I have absolutely no excuses not to.  So I am going to do my best about not worrying about what other people think and just write this little blog of mine. So hopefully in reading this little blog you find some laughs in real life moments with five kids, some encouragement on hard days, some truths about motherhood, and a mama who is doing her best to just love up her babies as much as she can. So here's to a new year, and regularly scheduled blog posts!
