The mighty Jacey at Bat

July 6, 2015

...........There was ease in Casey's manner as he stepped into his place;
There was pride in Casey's bearing and a smile on Casey's face.
And when, responding to the cheers, he lightly doffed his hat,
No stranger in the crowd could doubt 'twas Casey at the bat.

Ten thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed his hands with dirt;
Five thousand tongues applauded when he wiped them on his shirt.
Then while the writhing pitcher ground the ball into his hip,
Defiance gleamed in Casey's eye, a sneer curled Casey's lip.

And now the leather-covered sphere came hurtling through the air,
And Casey stood a-watching it in haughty grandeur there.
Close by the sturdy batsman the ball unheeded sped-
"That ain't my style," said Casey. "Strike one," the umpire said......
Casey at the Bat by Ernest Lawrence Thayer

This is just a little piece of Casey at Bat and I can't help to think of this poem when our  Jacey walks up to the plate. However there would be joy in Mudville tonight as our Mighty Jacey did NOT strike out

Sister Sue finished up her first T-ball season this year and what a fun season it was! She had a great team full of sweet little girls and her Daddy and a great family friend were her coaches. We really couldn't  of asked for a better season.

She grew so much this season and it was so fun to watch her actually start to get what the game was about. It definitely made this old softball player proud!

This sweet smile just melts my heart.

This girl can jazz up a yellow jersey better than any girl I know!! Who needs baseball pants when you have tall socks with lips on them!

Challenge 6:
What animal would you love to have as a pet?
We have dogs which come in second on my pet this but the animal that I would love to have as a pet would absolutely be a horse. When I was younger I use to ride horses and even compete in shows and little rodeos. I wasn't great at it but man did I think I was! :) I loved everything them, they way they smell, the way they feel, the way they move. If I had a horse I would totally be one of those crazy people who had a door or window that their horses can stick their head into your house. :)
