Finger paint The Herd way

June 27, 2011

So this morning as I was checking all the blogs I follow I found this fabulous homemade finger paint idea over at i can teach my child so this evening we decided to try it out.

It started out pretty good....

And then chaos ensued...
(the only empty bottles I had were shampoo, you get what
you get and you don't throw a fit) :)

Monkey see Monkey do

If your kids are anything like mine, do this OUTSIDE!!!

And if your child wants to be extra awesome you can eat it! :)

just because kota bear isn't pictured in the finger painting....love a clean baby!

So tonight I waited until after my kids went to bed to make brownies just so i could eat the left over batter all by myself......and I'm ok with that. :)

Father's Day

June 20, 2011

Happy Father's Day!!! (a day late) When I asked the kids what they wanted to do for their daddy for fathers day they had alot of suggestions. Here is some of the list:
1.Ice Cream
2. Apples
3. Dinosaurs
4. Unders (underware)
5. Race car trucks
6. Superhero
I decided to go with the ice cream and superhero idea.  I found this adorable idea and decided this was something the kids would love to do. We got all of the hubby's favorite goodies and made this Superhero Survival kit. Cause lets face it you have to be quite the superhero to handle all the crazieness that happens in our herd.

Isn't this fun! All his favorite neverfoods!

And every superhero needs a cape, so does his superhero crew.
How cute is little Bear's cape!!! LOVE IT!!!

Giving Superhero Daddy his survival kit.

And of course everyone has been sneaking a few goodies out of it! :)

The Incredibles   The Hemphills

We love our daddy

This sweet outfit has been worn to town (in public) on more than one occasion.
You gotta pic your battles :)

On Father's Day we also took a trip to the Great Bend Zoo.

It's so hard to get a good picture of everyone :)

The boys feeding the peacock and geese. I also may or may not have left my daughter in the stroller (under the hubby's supevision) to run sprint for my life to avoid being attacked by the geese.

I didn't venture out onto the dock with the family. The geese already had it out for me and i would have been completely cornered...I'm to smart for you, you stinkin geese!

The butterfly tent

Look close Junebug had one land on her hat!

Trying to get one to land on them

Junebug decided to just chuck her juice at them

Checking out his eagle friend, he was so excited!

it was HOT

We go to the zoo with lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, the works and my son spent the majority of the time feeding the catfish. He is truly his father's son, grandpa's grandson, and Uncle Nic's nephew. He is a Hemphill through and through.

We had a wonderful Fathers Day! Thank you Hubby for being an AMAZING father!!
We love you!
